The Crystal Ship

Both the concerned bands make their second entry on this here blog. Without further ado, assuming you have already listened to the original here is The Crystal Ship by Nevermore. Off their new album The Obsidiam Conspiracy. The other cover on the album, Tea Party's Temptation doesn't make it but is still worth a mention. Enough ado.

There are more covers of this song that one would care to count. Including a Pussycat Dolls version (but why?).
But as covers go, this one rocks (or is it sways?) so well, it makes you go dig up the original and lover the cover even more – not just because of where’s it’s used (in the classique SF classic Dark City) but how and why it’s used. Song to the Siren

Also famously known (to people of our generation) as the father of Jeff Buckley, Tim Buckley did this gem of a song, and what a cover by Frusciante on his latest solo effort The Empyrean, a gem of an album 'best played as loud as possible in dark living rooms late at night'. Take my word for it, or Frusciante's.

This one's a bonus track on Watershed. A bonus indeed. Who knew Marie could do a number like this!

Laisse tomber les filles

France Gall, April March, April March

And thereafter Ms. March english-ised that song with the subject intact, called it CHICK HABIT and it was thusly famously used in Death Proof
